This classic stage effect has the magician light a candle. The magician moves one hand close to the flame. Somehow, the magician manages to pick up the flame in his hand. The candle is extinguished, but the flame is still lit in the magician's hand. When the flame is blown out, a silk magically appears. This is a very surreal, but beautiful effect.
